MAJOR EMPLOYERS

Utah’s largest employers, with over 10,000 employees each, include the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Hill Air Force Base, and Intermountain Health Care. Employers with between 5,000 and 10,000 people on payrolls include Convergys, the Internal Revenue Service, Iomega, and Novus Services. Those with between 3,000 and 5,000 employees include Autoliv, Delta Air Lines, Utah Valley State College, Icon Health & Fitness, Wal-Mart, and Zions Bank. 
About 50% of Utah’s workforce works for employers with greater than 500 employees. Small business constitutes the balance of Utah employment. Roughly one in six Utah workers are self-employed.
