2007 Athena Award Recipient
Athena business Leader
of the Year Award Sponsored by: Women’s Financial Services
The Athena
The Athena Award is a prestigious national award presented annually to an active member of the Salt Lake Chamber who has worked on Salt Lake Chamber committees and events and who demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in business; provides valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; and assists women in reaching their full leadership potential.
The Salt Lake Chamber is honored to
announce the 2007 Athena Award Recipient: Margo
Provost Owner/Operator, Log Haven
More than anything, Margo Provost ached for the kind of security she rarely experienced in a 1950s childhood that began in an Ohio orphanage. So it was truly a leap-of-faith when, in 1994, she jettisoned a successful career as a health care and technology executive and poured her savings into renovating and re-opening a famous Utah landmark, Log Haven. Log Haven's opening in November, 1994 defied considerable odds and Margo has been recognized nationally for pulling off a remarkable turnaround. Log Haven has even been named the Best Restaurant in Utah for the past three years. Throughout all this, Margo has always found time to give back to the community and mentor many other women business owners.
Margo will receive her award at the
Salt Lake Chamber's Wells Fargo 2007 Athena Award Luncheon, scheduled for November
28, 2007. The luncheon is part of the Chamber’s American Express Women & Business Conference.
