Women & Business Conference -
Luncheon Keynote
The Salt Lake Chamber is honored to have
Anne Beiler, Founder of Auntie Anne’s Inc. and Author of Twist of Faith,
as this years keynote during the 2008 American Express Women & Business
Conference's Wells Fargo Athena Award Luncheon.
Anne was educated until the 8th grade in a small Amish school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Her close-knit family celebrated a sincere Christian faith and also valued a marketable work ethic with a good eye for business opportunity.
Established in 1988, Anne Beiler managed the family pretzel business from a single farmer’s market stand to the world’s largest mall-based pretzel franchise with over 950 locations worldwide. The success of her store pretzel franchise is unprecedented. Anne is among the few women that have founded national companies in America, and is one of an even smaller number that have owned an international franchise company.
Anne’s journey to become a leading female franchise owner followed a series of difficult personal struggles. The death of her second child drove her to seek pastoral counsel where she was abused by a sexual predator - her family pastor. Enduring great personal failure, a gripping depression followed her for more than six years. What makes Anne’s story of extraordinary failure and success remarkable, in addition to creating the best tasting homemade pretzel, is her determination to honor Jesus Christ and help others by telling her story. Anne’s commitment to excellence is rooted in the belief that we give to get, to give again; and that success can only be realized when you have a great product, great vision and great people on your team and a purpose greater than yourself.
Anne Beiler is a dynamic, articulate, highly successful business woman who is the recipient of numerous national awards; including being named one of America’s 500 women entrepreneurs by Working Women and Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine. Anne’s entrepreneurial insights and personal story have been featured on national television shows including The Food Network’s Unwrapped, The 700 Club, and Good Morning America. She has been featured in Fortune Magazine, Guidepost, Nation’s
Restaurant News and Christianity Today. Anne has also received honorary doctorates from Eastern College and Elizabethtown College.
In April of 2005, Anne sold Auntie Anne’s, Inc.
Her personal story of the challenges she faced will inspire any audience. She is in demand with youth groups, business conferences, women's events and church outreaches.
Anne Beiler lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Jonas. Her two daughters, LaWonna and LaVale, also live and work in Lancaster County. For more information, please visit
