Lisa Vehrenkamp was named Vice President-Global Prepaid Servicing for the American Express Travelers Cheque and Prepaid Services Group in early 2005. Lisa’s next assignment will be as the Senior Vice President and General Manager for all of the American Express Corporate Card business in Australia and Asia. Abby Bonell graduated from the University of Wales in the U.K. and launched her broadcast career with Piccadilly Radio. Abby traveled across the globe reporting on assignments working for Britain's largest commercial radio station from Turkey to Switzerland. One of those postings sent Abby to America where she was hired by Jacor Communications to host a morning show in Denver. Abby has spent the past decade working in Salt Lake City, anchoring the morning news with Andrew Peters and managing the 570 KNRS news department.
Joni Carrillo-Harry, Clear Channel Broadcasting
Joni Carrillo-Harry began her broadcast sales career in 1994 after graduating from the University of Utah in Broadcast Journalism. A college professor told her sales was more lucrative with better hours than a journalist. In 1995, after the birth of her twin daughters, Joni proposed and implemented the first Radio Sales JobShare position in the Salt Lake Market. She maintains a hectic family life commuting from Kamas, Utah and has been proud to cultivate a rewarding career without sacrificing her family
Celia Willette, Millcreek Boradcasting
Over the past 20 years, Celia has been involved in the local advertising industry in broadcast sales and management at various media groups, and as owner of her own marketing and advertising firm. She currently serves as chairman of the board for the Utah Arts Festival and is on The Christmas Box House community advisory council. She is past president of the AAF-Utah (formerly Utah Advertising Federation). Celia earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah. Most recently, she was in a job-share arrangement at Clear Channel Broadcasting. Charla Haley, Utah Department of Health
Charla Haley has been a Public Information Specialist with the Utah Department of Health since September of 2006. Prior to joining the state, Charla spent 26 years as a radio news personality for several radio stations along the Wasatch Front.
Tera Sundder, Café Rio
Tera is a world class Human Resources expert, having honed her skills at a number of large and small restaurant and retail companies including Starbucks, T.G.I.Friday’s and Brinker International’s Corner Bakery. At Starbucks Tera was responsible for leading the recruiting and succession planning activities for over 2200 outlets with yearly growth of more than 200 units. Tera is known for her ability to effectively coach and develop individuals and teams, which is a tremendous asset to the growing employee family at Cafe Rio.
Dr. Deneece Huftalin, Salt Lake Community College
Deneece Huftalin serves as Vice President for Student Services at Salt Lake Community College and has worked in the student affairs field for twenty-one years. In addition to working with student services, she has been very involved in student leadership development, learning communities on campus, and strategic planning and assessment initiatives. She serves on the faculty for Leadershape, Inc. a non-profit organization focused on college student leadership development and is involved in regional and national Student Affairs boards. She also currently serves on the Utah Arts Festival board. Deneece earned a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah, a Master’s degree at University of California, Los Angeles and a Ph.D. at the University of Utah.
Tim Huftalin
Tim Huftalin is originally from DeKalb, IL but spent most of his life in a small town in Iowa. He attended Iowa State University where he studied Agriculture and Business and was involved in Farmhouse fraternity. After spending several years in farming, Tim changed careers and moved to Salt Lake City to work in the Real Estate Appraising field. Tim moved to part-time appraising in 1994 to spend more time at home with his son and in 1998, when his second son was born, became a full-time stay at home father. Tim started Four Trees, a cabinet and furniture company, several years ago and currently works from home building custom furniture.
