About our presenter:
Roger Slater is the Human Resources Officer for the Bureau of Reclamation’s Upper Colorado Regional Office located in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Southern Utah State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Roger has over 20 years of experience in the Human Resource arena in the Federal Government. Roger has worked for three different Federal agencies in his career. During that time, he has been involved with People Helping People a local non-profit for more than 15 years.
Roger is known for his non-traditional and innovative approaches to the Federal Human Resource line of work. He takes pride in teaching people the concepts behind the Federal hiring process and the art form of filling out a Government application. He also has given many presentations in the area of behavior based/structural interviews. This is not only from a standpoint of educating selecting officials, but more importantly he teaches applicants how to prepare for and impress potential employers with the demonstrated application of skills. It is in this area where his teachings are not limited to the Federal sector, but have proven to be beneficial and valuable in the private sector as well.
