The Salt Lake Chamber works
to help your business succeed. We only accomplish this with the help of
hundreds of volunteers. We invite you to become involved in the Chamber by
joining a committee. Identify the committees you are interested in and email or call the Chamber at 801.364.3631 for more information.
The committee is divided into five categories including foreign outreach, data management, legislative affairs, workshops, and the International Festival.
Leadership Utah Alumni
Meets quarterly to address critical community issues, provide opportunities for members to network, and plan community involvement. Comprised of past graduates of Leadership Utah. More
Military Affairs Committee
Building relationships between military installation units and Wasatch Front businesses by increasing awareness through briefings, tours, and the Salt Lake Military Salute Banquet. More
President's Ambassadors
Represents the Chamber president and CEO by fellowshipping new and existing members at Chamber functions. Community leaders speak at the committee's monthly meeting. More
Salt Shakers
Act as the official goodwill ambassadors of the Chamber. The group represents the Chamber at ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and out-of-state visits. More
Utah Business Employers Team (UBET)
Focuses on educating members and employers in the community
about best practices to attract, employ, and maintain qualified
people with disabilities. Encourages companies and
organizations to create new opportunities that not only help those with disabilities, but that provided a viable economic
model for success More
Small Business Institute and Women's Business Center
A public/private partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Chamber that supports small business owners and entrepreneurs. Also has special programs for women.
Youth Employability Services (Y.E.S.)
A joint program with Salt Lake County to help low income, at
risk youth achieve academic and employment success.
Provides a forum for Chamber members and others interested in ensuring that the state and federal governments adequately fund the state’s transportation infrastructure. Makes recommendations concerning transportation funding and planning initiatives to the Chamber’s Board of Governors and ensures that the Legislature, the Governor, and federal officials hear the voice of business as critical decisions are made.
Healthcare Committee
Provides a forum for Chamber members to discuss the rising costs of healthcare from all aspects, from the delivery of medical services to insurance coverage and the role of state and federal governments. Makes recommendations concerning healthcare initiatives to the Chamber’s Board of Governors and ensures that the Legislature, the Governor, and federal officials hear the voice of business as critical decisions are made.
Legislative Affairs Committee
Reviews legislation during the annual General Session of the Utah Legislature and makes specific recommendations to the Chamber’s Board of Governors on legislation being considered. Provides a forum for Chamber members to meet with and hear from public elected and appointed officials at the federal, state, county, and city levels.
Political Action Committee (Chamber PAC)
Identifies and supports state and local candidates who are favorable to Chamber members and the general business community. Uses funds raised separately from Chamber membership fees.
The Salt Lake Chamber honors its outgoing chairman, members of
the Board of Governors and Chamber Champions at the Annual
Meeting. In addition, the chamber's accomplishments from the
past year are highlighted through a multi-media presentation.
Business to Business Expo Committee
Organizes the trade show that features 350 exhibitors from a
variety of businesses that display products and services.
Committee members organize booth sales and food court exhibitors
and coordinate entertainment as well as the opening night gala.
Small Business Awards Committee
Solicits nominations, participates in the selection process and
organizes the awards dinner for this annual event.
Chamber Classic Committee
Creates goodwill and camaraderie with chamber member
participants. Committee members organize gifts, prizes,
participants and a luncheon.
Women & Business Conference Committee
The conference presents workshops on professional and personal
development. The prestigious Athena Award is given at the
luncheon.
Professional Women's Golf Tournament Committee
This premier golf tournament brings high-level business women
together for the purpose of building business relationships and
networking.
Military Salute Banquet Committee
A Mess Dress or black tie optional patriotic event recognizing
one officer and one enlisted selected from each of the following
unites here in National Guard and Reserve Units here in Utah:
The US Army Reserve (USAR), the Utah Army National Guard (UTARNG),
the Utah Air National Guard (UTANG), the US Air Force Reserve (USAFR),
the US Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR), and the US Navy Reserve (USNR).
