The
Business Women’s forum is a networking group of the Salt Lake Chamber. The
forum was established to celebrate the accomplishments of women and develop
leadership skills among women business leaders. The forum provides professional
growth opportunities for working women in management and women business owners.
The forum is a dynamic group committed to the following goals:

the Forum:
Benefits:
The
forum provides participants with timely information on professional and
community issues through luncheon programs and civic activities. Since forum
participants represent businesses of various sizes and from a broad range of
industries, participation also provides an opportunity to meet people with
diverse educational and professional backgrounds. Active membership on
committees within the forum offers leadership, as well as opportunities to
associate and work with business leaders.
Meeting Times & Dates:
The
Business Women’s Forum meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Registration
begins 11:30 am and meetings start promptly at noon and last one hour. Meetings
normally are held in a downtown restaurant. Monthly meeting notifications are
mailed in advance and an rsvp is required. Occasionally, a special meeting will
be held in lieu of the monthly meeting, but participants are notified well in
advance of any changes. In addition, participation at the annual Women &
Business Conference is encouraged.
Luncheon Topics:
Luncheon
topics are planned in direct response to the interest of the Forum participants
and the current issues within the community. The topics are diverse and
informative are presented by an expert in the field. Past Topics have included;
dressing for success, balancing work and personal life, and business etiquette.
Participation Fees/ Dues:
Individuals
and business that are members of the Salt Lake Chamber are eligible to join.
Participant fees are $50 per person and cover monthly announcements, and the
annual membership directory. Fees cover the period from July 1 to June 30
annually. If paying after January 1 of the current fiscal year a fee of $25 is
required for participation through June 30. Individuals may attend as guests,
however, will pay an additional fee for the luncheons. Cost of monthly luncheons

Committees:
The
Forum operates with a steering committee composed of committee chairs that are
appointed by consultation between the Forum chair and the Salt Lake Chamber
staff.
The
forum committees are as follows:
Participation-Promotes
growth of the forum and welcomes new participants
Program-
Plans and arranges monthly luncheons, topics and speakers.
Hospitality-
serves as table facilitators and greeters at monthly meetings
Directory-
organizes data and works with the women’s business center staff on the
annual directory
Newsletter-
Submits articles about the forum for the Salt Lake Chamber newsletter
Special Projects-
provides an opportunity for involvement in civic and philanthropic
activities.
Awards-
awards donations from prize drawings to a charity of choice.
