Program
Participation Requirements
A
diverse group of individuals will be selected to take part in Leadership
Utah, including representatives from both the private sector and the
public sector. A maximum of 50 people will be admitted to the
program.
A confidential selection committee will evaluate all
applications. This online application will be the sole basis for
selection.
The following requirements have been
established in an effort to make the entire program more meaningful and enjoyable for
you as a participant. At the same time, if you are able to follow the requirements
it will make it easier
for the staff to monitor your attendance and avoid conflicts.
- Candidates
must currently hold middle- or upper-level management positions
within their organizations.
- In order to graduate, you must attend eight
out of the ten sessions September through June.
- If you miss two hours or more
of any session or activity, you will receive a half-day credit for
that day
- It is disruptive to everyone if you are late.
Please make every effort to be on time for
each session. If you are late, you may be asked to wait in the
hall until the next speaker is ready to speak.
- We
will always begin our day at the Salt Lake Chamber promptly at 8
a.m. and return no later than 5 p.m.
- If you are going to be late or are
going to be absent, please let us know as far in advance as
possible. Since attendance is critical, we will
assume that you will be present unless you inform us otherwise.
-
A reminder agenda will be emailed to you one week in advance.
- If you have to leave at any time
during a session, please present a business card to one of the staff members
to let them know when you are
leaving and when you will return.
- Required transportation for off-site
activities is by motor coach. Occasionally, other arrangements
may be made, but you will be notified in advance.
- Cellular phones may only be used
during the breaks given throughout the day. Your phone must
be turned off for the rest of the time
- Listen carefully and with an open mind
to all the presenters. In order to learn, you must participate
fully. Ask
questions!
- Get to know the others in the class.
Graduates of the Leadership Utah program will tell you that they
have developed lasting friendships and quality business relations
that have lasted throughout the programs 22 years. Your class
will be the 23 class to participate in the program.
