This program creates energy, support and momentum for the Chamber’s education initiatives. The focus
of Utah School Works is to support curriculum enhancements and work to
lessen the achievement gap. In order to affect positive change in our schools we have set a goal of 100,000 volunteer-hours and $100,000 for
education.

Educational achievement is key to United Way of Salt Lake's goal of creating stronger, more prosperous families and communities. An education—whether it be a high-school diploma, a secondary degree, or job training—translates into higher-paying jobs and a more complete set of life skills.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah offers a variety of volunteer experiences.
We have several different programs, each serving a unique population of children.
One opportunity is a school based program where volunteers commit to meet with a child on the school grounds for one hour per week during the school year. Volunteers have fun eating lunch with the child, going to the school library, playing on the playground or making arts and crafts
projects.
