Programs
& Services- WBC
Our program and service delivery model focuses on the four core areas of Counseling, Training, Mentoring and Networking.
1. Free One-on-One Counseling:
Our professional business counselor provides individual management and technical assistance counseling sessions that are tailored to the specific needs of the woman entrepreneur. These informal sessions provide guidance and practical business knowledge that will help to increase the client's chances of success.
Counseling sessions cover specific areas ranging from business feasibility and planning, to legal assistance, accounting and finance, marketing, and human resource management.
Contact us at (801) 328-5066 to schedule an appointment.
2. Trainings/Workshops:
WBC New Client Orientation: If you are an aspiring, first time business owner, learn about a step-by-step approach into business including the basic first steps, testing your idea, resources available, setting expectations about what we can offer them etc. These trainings are held every first and third Thursday. For timing and locations please check our event calendar.
First Step Fast Trac: FSFT is a nationally acclaimed training model for business planning and it provides a strong foundation for them in understanding their business and in writing their business/feasibility plan. Danielle Lower is a certified teacher for the Fast Trac program.
Professional Development Seminars: We offer two professional development seminars a month that provide the nuts and bolts to growing your own business besides specialized training programs like the Marketing Essentials Week, Contracting with the Government. Please see events calendar for upcoming trainings.
3. Mentoring – Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training:
WNET is held the last Friday of every month at Salt Lake Community College’s Library Square Building. WNET links established women business owners with entrepreneurs whose businesses are ready to grow. Through the six-month, one-on-one mentor relationship, successful women entrepreneurs pass on knowledge, skills, information, inspiration and support. To register for WNET call Danielle Lower at (801) 957-5241.
4. Networking – Business Women’s Forum Luncheon:
Business Women’s Forum luncheons are held on the third Tuesday of every month at various local restaurants. About 50-60 professional businesswomen attend these meetings. The luncheons feature great speakers, networking and prize drawings and provide a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of women and develop leadership skills among women business leaders.
