The Salt Lake Chamber has afforded us the opportunity to become part of the business community and the community at large through strong networking and relationships with key stakeholders in the community. As a current member of the Chamber board, I am impressed by the diversity and professionalism of the people, the ideas and the enthusiasm that come from bringing business leaders together. We have now sent four of our managers through Leadership Utah (myself included) and it has become an integral part of our leadership development. The various committees and events sponsored by the chamber provide great opportunities to obtain future business and expand friendships in the community. Finally, the staff and leadership of the Chamber afford members to have a strong voice and presence on governmental affairs that affect our business in major ways.

I am proud to be a current member of the Salt Lake Chamber and I would strongly encourage businesses both large and small to join!

An Aid to My New Business

As a new business in Utah, we have been a member of the Salt Lake Chamber for 1 year and found it to be one of the most effective ways to get plugged into the community. The events that are provided have been invaluable to us as we grow. As we have attended these events we have been able to establish quality business and personal relationships and have more than paid for my yearly membership. Our growth in Utah really got going when we attended our first Business to Business expo and spoke with a gentleman about our capabilities. This conversation lead to an approximate contract worth well over 80 million to date. We have not missed a Business Expo since because it only takes one contact to make it all worth while. Active membership in the SL Chamber is not only good for our business but it also gives us a chance to be involved with a very diverse business clientele and the community projects that are supported by the SL Chamber. The SL Chamber represents small business as well as large business to promote a steady healthy business climate. They do a great job.

Annual Conference was good for morale & networking

Wasatch Woman Magazine recently attended the Women & Business Conference and Athena Luncheon as guests of the Salt Lake Chamber. Besides being a morale booster for a small, "just-getting-started" business, we were amazed at what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. We were able to finally touch base with many people that we've been struggling to get in contact with during normal business hours. This interaction led to multiple sales and promising relationships with other companies.

Annual Expo & Membership Help Us Grow

Skymail has been a member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce for the past nine years. During that time Skymail has gained both new clients and vendors through Chamber networking events, seminars and programs. The Business to Business Expo has also proved to be a very good and effective Chamber function for our business. The Chamber is by far one of the most useful resources any new or established company can utilize in the Salt Lake City business community.

20+ Years of Volunteering

Thanks for the invitation to share my story. As you know I am, and will remain a big Chamber supporter. I first became active in the chamber in 1984, when I became the Director of Marketing for MountainWest Savings.
In 1985, I joined the Salt Shakers and in 1989 I was Head Shaker ( President). When I started my own business in 1992, one of the first things I did was join the Chamber. Through my involvement in various aspects of the Chamber and the networking opportunities it provides, the Chamber has been the number one source of new business for me. There you have it!!!!
