The Salt Lake Chamber has many committees and task forces. The following are
examples of the type of committees that deal with policy and issues. Because
committees and task forces may change rapidly in response to events and

Healthcare Committee
Provides a forum for Chamber members to discuss the rising costs of healthcare from all aspects, from the delivery of medical services to insurance coverage and the role of state and federal governments. Makes recommendations concerning healthcare initiatives to the Chamber’s Board of Governors and ensures that the Legislature, the Governor, and federal officials hear the voice of business as critical decisions are made.
Legislative Affairs Committee
Reviews legislation during the annual General Session of the Utah Legislature and makes specific recommendations to the Chamber’s Board of Governors on legislation being considered. Provides a forum for Chamber members to meet with and hear from public elected and appointed officials at the federal, state, county, and city levels.
Political Action Committee (Chamber PAC)
Identifies and supports state and local candidates who are favorable to Chamber members and the general business community. Uses funds raised separately from Chamber membership fees.
Transportation Committee
Provides a forum for Chamber members and others interested in ensuring that the state and federal governments adequately fund the state’s transportation infrastructure. Makes recommendations concerning transportation funding and planning initiatives to the Chamber’s Board of Governors and ensures that the Legislature, the Governor, and federal officials hear the voice of business as critical decisions are made.
